First Dubbed Spaceship on Venus!
Pretty entertaining trailer here, probably unwillingly sucking the kids into the theater, because this is of course, one of those Russian space movies dubbed horribly and then rushed out to unsuspecting kids everywhere. The trailer itself looks wild, So maybe just the look of this convinced the distributors to grab this as soon as they could.

The truth about "First Spaceship On Venus"
Great Trailer but the movie itself is even greater. I'm living in germany and know it very well. The original title is "Der schweigende Stern" (The Silent Star) and its a production from the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik).
Its a very colorful film with really amazing special effects and a philosophic touch.
The cosmonauts on venus find a dead planet and the ruins of a high-intelligent species, which evidently had planed to destroy the earth with powerfull weapons. But something went wrong. They lost control over their technological achievements and destroyed their own planet in the end.
The film communicates a world-peace-message in a naive manner. And although its not said explicit, its a propaganda-movie for communism.
I never knew that it was shown in USA. I suppose they had to work it all over to get rid of that communistic ideology ;-)

The trailer for First Spaceship on Venus is really exciting -- it showcases a lot of special effects, has an urgent (yet surprisingly not obnoxious) narration, and really got me interested in watching the movie. The trailer itself is worthy of five stars, but I had to knock one off because of the quality of the print -- the colors are really washed in this one. Otherwise great, definitely worth a look.
